Saint-Gobain Joins Forces to Accelerate Hong Kong’s Carbon Neutrality Goals

Saint-Gobain is proud to announce its participation in a landmark collaboration aimed at transforming Hong Kong’s built environment and advancing the city’s carbon neutrality ambitions. In partnership with The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and leading French innovators—Veolia, Schneider Electric, Bouygues Construction-Dragages Hong Kong Limited, and Egis—Saint-Gobain is supporting the launch of a low-carbon retrofit pilot project.

This initiative was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a pivotal step toward achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The signing ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Bertrand Lortholary, French Ambassador to China, Ms. Christile Drulhe, Consul-General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, and representatives from Invest Hong Kong, French Foreign Trade Advisors, and the French Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.

A Vision for Sustainable Construction

At Saint-Gobain, we believe that sustainable construction is not just a goal—it’s a responsibility. This pilot project will serve as a living lab for research-driven solutions and will feature:

  • Joint assessments to identify energy-saving opportunities
  • Capacity building through shared best practices
  • Data-driven policy development
  • Advanced energy management technologies
  • Collaborative innovation across public and private sectors

This collaboration reflects Saint-Gobain’s enduring commitment to designing, manufacturing, and distributing materials and solutions that contribute to the wellbeing of individuals and the sustainability of our planet.

Let’s build better, together.
