Saint-Gobain Architecture Student Contest 2026 – Hong Kong Stage

The “Saint-Gobain Architecture Student Contest 2026 – Hong Kong Stage” concluded successfully last Friday at the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) Premises, bringing together emerging architectural talents from across Hong Kong and Macau.

A total of nine university teams presented their innovative design proposals for the construction and renovation of a recreational area in Belgrade, Serbia. The participants demonstrated impressive creativity and forward-thinking approaches, earning high praise from both the judging panel and attending audience.

As part of the programme, students also engaged in an expert-led panel discussion titled “Sustainable Architecture: Designing Delight for Tourism & Recreational Projects.” The session provided valuable insights into sustainable design strategies and explored how architecture can enhance user experience in tourism and leisure developments.

Following the jury’s deliberation, the team comprising Lau Kai Yan Carmen, Fung Wing In Ingrid, and Liao Ho Ngai from The Chinese University of Hong Kong was announced as the winner and awarded a prize of HK$10,000. The team will go on to represent Hong Kong at the International Stage of the contest, to be held in Belgrade, Serbia this June.

Saint-Gobain extends its sincere appreciation to all participants and supporting partners, including The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), and the Architects Association of Macau (AAM), for their invaluable contributions to the success of this event.

We look forward to welcoming more inspiring ideas in the next edition of the competition.
